The Nude Olympics - Did you know?
720 B.C.E. According to one legend, a runner at the Ancient Olympic Games named Orsippos discarded his loincloth and won his race. Another legend says that the loincloth accidentally fell off a runner at the Olympics, who tripped on it, struck his head, and died. So for reasons of either improved athletic performance or safety, from this date forward Olympic athletes competed naked.
You wouldn't fancy trying it at the London Marathon?
But the elite athletes of the ancient world, it seems, were made of sterner stuff.

Nude sunbathers may have to cover up
September 05, 2006
VICTORIANS who like to sunbathe in the buff may be forced to cover up at three designated nudist beaches this summer. The Victorian Government has confirmed three of Victoria's four nudist beaches will have their status reviewed at the request of local councils. Liberal Party member and Surf Coast Shire councillor Ron Humphrey is leading the campaign to close two nudist beaches southeast of Melbourne - Point Impossible beach near Torquay and Southside near Anglesea. He tabled a council motion, passed by five votes to two in July, to request a ban on nude bathing at the beaches. “We are experiencing very strong urban growth; there are lot of families moving in,” Mr Humphrey told Fairfax.

Cambridgeshire Fire & Rescue Service - May 2006
We have been busy developing our new business areas, and so we were over the moon when we won the pitch to re-brand the Cambridgeshire Fire & Rescue Service. Working in partnership with their in house communications team we were able to develop and roll out a new fresher looking brand for the fire service, while keeping the traditional feel of authority that is required for these lifesaving services.
